Goring Physiotherapy Sports & Injury Clinic

Goring Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic Covid-19 Policy July 2020

From the 6th July,The team at Goring Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic are delighted to be able to welcome you back following the Covid-19 lockdown closure.

To comply with recommended safety measures, both from the Govt and our professional bodies, we will have to put the following procedures into place so we ask for your patience and understanding with this new system but keeping you safe is our priority.

Unfortunately, we will no longer be able to accept any patients without a pre-booked appointment. Please call 01903 242261 or email office@goringphysio.co.uk for an appointment.

All patients will be screened by a telephone call before physiotherapists will be allowed to conduct a face to face consultation. This will cover health related questions, explanation of the risk factors and whether a face to face is deemed clinically necessary. For those patients that physiotherapists do not feel face to face is appropriate, remote consultations will be offered.

Physiotherapists will wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as guided by Public Health England and their professional bodies. Face masks, gloves and aprons will be worn as minimum in a treatment room. If it is felt appropriate, visors will be available for them to wear for added protection.

There will be at least 15 mins between patients in the clinic allowing time for physiotherapists to wash and clean surfaces and equipment and change their PPE as appropriate. Fabric couch covers or towels will no longer be used.

Patients will be asked to wait outside the premises until the time of their appointment and leave the clinic promptly after the session has finished. We request that everyone wears their own face covering/mask whilst attending our clinic (masks will be available for purchase).

Hand sanitisers and hand washing facilities will be available for patients to use on entry and leaving the premises.

Your temperature may be taken on arrival into the clinic using a No touch Infrared Forehead Thermometer. If there is evidence of a high temperature you will be asked to leave and a remote consultation will be offered.

Wherever possible please be prepared to use contactless or BACs payment. If the PIN pad is required, it will be wiped down with alcohol wipes before and after each use.

If more than one person is in the reception area, the recommended minimum distance must be maintained between them.

We request that only one person attends for an appointment. A patient may of course be accompanied if they are a minor or have mobility issues but this should have been previously agreed with the physiotherapist.

All patients will be asked to give their consent before entering the treatment room. This consent will include the fact that information around risks and precautions have been explained and understood prior to treatment. This will be recorded in your clinical notes.

If you have any concerns, please speak to a member of our clinic team before entering the clinic.

Thank you from all of the team at Goring Physiotherapy.
